Vitamins and Minerals

Vitamins and minerals may be the single most important nutrients in the battle for a healthier you. These micronutrients play a vital role in every single function that goes on within the human body. When an individual is deficient in any one of these nutrients, their body is not functioning at an optimal level, and performance and general overall health suffer. In order to be at your best, a vitamin and mineral supplement should be your first choice for optimal health.

Many people will claim that they get enough vitamins and minerals in their daily diet and they don’t need to supplement. I think this is misguided thinking. When was the last time you knew of anyone keeping track of their daily vitamin and mineral intake? For that matter, how does one know exactly how much of each of these micronutrients they need? While the USRDA (United Stated Recommended Daily Allowances) gives a guideline with specific amounts, these numbers were established in the 1940s and were meant to keep the average individual from getting sick.

These days, the amount of toxins in the air, the processed food we eat, the daily stresses of life, smoking and intense physical exercise all demand that our body’s need more vitamins and minerals. On top of this, the human body can produce some of the vitamins on its’ own, but not one single mineral can be produced in the body.

In my opinion, a single daily multivitamin/multimineral tablet does not cover the amount of these nutrients today’s person needs. With a “pak” form of these micronutrients, you are more likely to get the proper amount of vitamins and minerals needed to keep you performing at your best.

Obviously, optimal health requires optimal nutrition, and this all starts on the smallest scale with proper amounts of vitamins and minerals. Before choosing any supplement to push your body to the max, or to just maintain great health, choose an adequate vitamin and mineral. Your body will thank you.
