Physical XL Pro MRP Slow from Physical Sciences The letters MRP stand for ďMeal Replacement PowderĒ. When you think about it, most of your meals are digested relatively slowly. It is for this reason that Physical-Sciences has created Physical XL MRP Slow. A combination of slow-digesting proteins and carbohydrates designed to mimic the slow digestion and absorption of a whole food meal.

Whey protein concentrate is the most common form of whey protein used in protein powders. The downside to this abundant use is that many companies will use a much cheaper grade of whey concentrate that is mostly lactose and fat with a significantly lower level of protein, all to make a bigger profit on their end. Physical-Sciences uses only the highest grade whey protein concentrate in Physical XL MRP Slow. Whey concentrate is high in immune-boosting subfractions such as alpha lactoglobulins and lactoferrins.

Complete milk protein is another form of real milk. Having been isolated from skim milk, complete milk protein retains both the whey and casein portions of milk in their natural state, as well as in the same ratio. GRANULATED COMPLEX / SIMPLE CARBOHYDRATE BLEND (Glucose Polymers) An easily digestible source of carbohydrate calories for use when additional calories are required. Mixes easily with regular foods and beverages to provide extra calories for persons with increased caloric needs or for those whose normal diet does not meet their needs. May be used indefinitely as an internal carbohydrate supplement. Not intended to be used as a sole-source nutritional product. Rapid absorption (peak glucose response in 30 minutes). Glucose and glucose polymers fed before and during exercise, significantly delay the onset of fatigue and increase performance. PRE WORKOUT BLEND There is strong evidence to support that a combination of protein/carbohydrate blend may stimulate net protein synthesis especially when taken immediately before exercise, which may account for an increase in net positive protein balance, it is clear that a sufficient amount of essential amino acids combined with a carbohydrate may act as a potent stimulator of net muscle protein synthesis when given before or at various times after resistance exercise. For muscle building, a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio of carbs:protein in pre-workout meal. For fat loss reverse that and have a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio of carbs:protein pre-workout meal. The main function of this dietary manipulation is optimizing your insulin levels to help you reach your particular goals.

POST WORKOUT BLEND After exercise, insulin seems to be necessary for protein synthesis to occur, yet increased insulin does not stimulate muscle protein synthesis. However elevated insulin after resistance exercise does diminish muscle protein breakdown in response to resistance exercise. Ingesting glucose polymers after exercise may temporarily raise insulin levels which may prove crucial in reducing protein breakdown and replenishing glycogen stores that are necessary for future resistance exercise. A 50-50 or 60-40 ratio of carbohydrates to protein is optimal for post-workout recovery.

Leucine has 10 times the impact on protein synthesis than any other amino acid. The BCAAs also help boost insulin release. After your workouts, this anabolic hormone stimulates muscle growth and drives nutrients, including amino acids, glucose and creatine to your muscle cells. BCAAs also help blunt cortisol levels, the catabolic hormone that leads to muscle breakdown. While youíll get BCAAs in your protein (especially whey), itís a good idea to add more to shakes for the specific advantages that BCAAs provide.
